ABOUT US

Hassun at Kappo Yuuzenbito Tahata
Soup course at Kappo Yuuzenbito Tahata

Five minutes on foot from Higobashi Station on the Osaka Metro Yotsubashi Line, behind white plaster walls set with driftwood.

Six seats at the counter downstairs and one private room upstairs, eight in all. The fish and vegetables are chosen each day and built into a kaiseki course.

Beside the food, junmai sake from a merchant the owner trusts, poured into kiriko cut glass and antique vessels so the ware is part of the meal.

Japanese food culture and food education sit at the centre of the work here, and each plate follows the turning of the seasons.
